Students with Grit vs. Students without Grit Would you consider yourself as a student with grit or without grit? Have you ever wondered why some students succeed and other students fail? As a student, this is a very important question to ask yourself. Grit is considered as the passion and perseverance to accomplish long-term goals. In order to have grit, you must look at the future as if you are running a marathon. You must keep going and you cannot give up. Students with grit are more likely to succeed in college compared to students without grit because of the determination, responsibility, and concentration they possess.

Concentration is the act or power of focusing one’s attention or mental effort. This is extremely important when discussing grit. Concentration is needed in order to stay focused on the long term goal: succeeding. No matter what the goal is, concentration is a big part of getting to that goal. There will most likely be things that the student will see as uninteresting, but a student with grit must learn to overcome that obstacle and push through.
