The Allegory of the Cave is presented by the Greek philosopher, Plato. He wrote this in his book, the Republic, to compare the effect of education to the lack of experiences. In his allegory, the cave consisted of prisoners, a fire, puppets, and puppeteers. The prisoners would see a shadow projected onto the wall, which the puppeteers would control using the puppets. The prisoners were unable to tell that the shadows were merely puppets. The way each person would see the shadow was different; this shows that not all people perceive things the same way. When the prisoners were released, they realized that the shadows they had seen were only puppets. I agree with much off Plato's key ideas. In my life I can use this as a motivation to become the best I can be. I will strive to be great. I will work harder than anyone and be the best. I will be superior to my opponents and allies. I will be the person people look up to in life. I become the best person taking in feedback from my peers and us it to make me better. I am going to use this idea more in my life. I am going to try to become a leader. The harder I push myself to become the best, the harder my peers will try to keep up with me. With will reflect in my lifestyle such as school and sports. The superior person on the field or in life isn't always the strongest but the person who can take in the most knowledge and apply it. This material made me think of my choices in life. It made me ask myself why am i doing certain thing. I don't have a clear answer that can explain it either. I should be more open to new concepts and ideas. This will allow me to try new thing in life and become a better person. To conclude, Plato's Allegory of the Cave has opened my mind and gave me a new perspective. The information has made me grow as person, a student, and a better athlete. I am going to be able to use this more in my life, by looking back at this
