The Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea party had the greatest effect in leading the colonists towards fighting for independence for britain, Why was the Boston Tea Party a big impact in American history? The boston tea party was a big impact in history because the tea was dumped and wasted millions of dollars. So the course of American history. Some events leading up to the Boston tea party were the stamp act, the sugar and townshend act’’. The Americans would not drink tea that had tax on it (Lindaman and ward,35.) This quote means that Americans did not drink tea that had taxes.The colonist were not chosen to be taxed, but Britain had to pay back depths from the French and Indian war. The stamp act was when the stamped everything so they could see that that they paid tax. And also the sugar act was when they put tax on sugar. The townshend was when they taxed paper, tea, paints, glass and other important things.

On the night of December 16, 1773, under the leadership of Samuel Adams, a group of men disguised as Mohawk Indians went on the ship, cut open the tea of boxes and threw the entire 342 tea chests into the sea,’’ (The Revolutionary War,15). The Sons Of Liberty, threw the tea chest because they were very angry, because they and charging them lots of tax from left to right. They dressed as Mohawk Indians, because they didn't want to get caught in trouble or get more taxed. The results of the Boston tea party were massive ! ‘’The Boston Port act was closed , except for food, and fuel,’’ (the Revolutionary War, 16). Britain closed the ports, because of the boston tea party, they also made way more acts. The acts were Intolerable acts, which was when they closed the town halls, and the Quartering act was when solider could just come live with you, even without you knowing! and the Boston port act which closed the port except for food and fuel. This was a
