Synthesis Final Summative Assessment “The Oji-Cree are literally being killed by technological advances.” With the technology world booming today it is easy for their life to be overpowered with too much technology. Technology is meant to help us, but is it really meant to kill our past lives and lead us into the wrong direction. In the article “As technology gets better, will society get worse?” and the story “The Veldt” the statement that stood out the most was that technology can truly overpower our lives. In this day of time it is so easy for us to rely on technology to help us and get our work done, but we never realize the negative effects that are occurring when we use it. A few years later though the people all fell into the black hole of technology. “The Oji-Cree are literally being killed by technological advances.” (pg. 3 Wu). Instead of taking care of their limits on technology it just overpowered them. People become so lazy their bodies would just fail on them. Technology truly took over the lives of the Oji-Cree people. In “The Veldt” the family finally learns that all this technology is effective their lives in a negative way. When the house starts to go crazy on them the parents realize they have to get away from the technology. Their lives became so easy when technology came along, but when it has to go they don’t know how to go back to a life without technology. “I don't imagine the room will like being turned off. The technology doesn't want to leave you since you have used it for so long.” (pg. 8 Bradbury). It’s so hard for them to give up something that was doing everything for them.
