1. The protagonist of “King of the Bingo Game” is in a difficult situation and has suffered misfortunes beforehand. A lot of the protagonist turmoil is over his sick wife and the doctor they cannot afford. This prompts him to try his luck in bingo to escape his misfortunes; however, he does not achieve this and goes into a downward spiral. He desperately seeks control over his life and attempts to achieve that through controlling the bingo wheel which does work for a while but in the end that control is taken away from.
2. Twyla in “Recitatif” is a round character because she has multiple facets to her personality. Twyla’s emotions and the thoughts she thinks have depth and meaning behind them.
