Causes of Type 2 Diabetes often start at a younger age during childhood but nothing is completely noticed until the child is an adult. Causes in a Type 2 Diabetic can be often noticed from weight gain, excessive hunger and thirst; fatigue and blurred vision. According to the “Mayo Clinic,” Mayo Clinic Staff say, “Type 2 Diabetes develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin or when the pancreas stops producing enough insulin. Exactly why this happens is unknown, although genetics and environmental factors, such as excess weight and inactivity, seem to be contributing factors.” (Mayo Clinic). When Type 2 Diabetes is first discovered in the body and diagnosed by a medical professional, they will say how the body has become insulin resistant to the insulin it used to produce normally by itself. This means that the body is trying to fight back with insulin to balance out all the sugar that is being taken in, but without the right amount of insulin being produced in the body it has to be recieved another way. Amy Hess, from “Endocrine Web,” states, “People with Type 2 Diabetes may need insulin shots to help them better process sugar and to prevent long-term complications from this disease. Persons with Type 2 Diabetes may first be treated with oral medications, along with diet and exercise. Since Type 2 Diabetes is a progressive condition, the longer someone has it, the more likely they will require insulin to maintain blood sugar levels.” (What is insulin). Type 2 Diabetes is not the easiest disease to control, and can be very complex if not taken care of right away with what the doctor thinks is best for the certain individual’s case. As Type 2 is a progessive condition and the longer someone has it and it is out of control the more likely they need insulin injections to improve their blood sugar
