Esther
The book of Esther is unique in many ways. One reason is because that the name of God is never mentioned throughout the book, but the work and hand of God is shown in many ways. Mordecai had taken Esther in as his own daughter and raised her when her mother and father had died. Esther was lovely in both form and her features and she was chosen to be queen. She was a Jew and through her time being queen she was put in a situation and chose to be used by God instead of just sitting back and letting things happen.
Haman had a plot to destroy all the Jews; he had gone to Mordecai telling him to kneel down. When Mordecai refuses, Haman’s anger leads himself to plan the execution against all the Jews. During that Mordecai went to Esther telling her that she needed to go before the king and inform him on this. Nobody knew Esther was a Jew also, so she didn’t know how the king would respond. She agreed that she would go before the king, but only after she spent a few days in fasting. She does this to become closer to God and she knows that she needs God’s help if she wants to succeed. Esther invites the king to a banquet and afterwards the king is unable to sleep and asks for the record books to be read aloud. During that time he realized that it was the Jew Mordecai who had saved his life. Esther later on tells the king Haman’s plan to kill all Jews and that she is a Jew herself. The king then orders for Haman to be hung and so all the Jew were able to be saved.
This story really encouraged me when I had read it because it showed that God’s timing is always
