Ethical code of conduct for a Long-Term-Care Facility

The code of conduct for a Long Term Care Facility is a guideline and procedure for personal conduct for those working in that kind of facility. To preserve the highest standard of care using integrity and ethical standards, code of ethics or code of conduct are the foundations that most long term care facility based their business principle. It is the responsibility of all parties including upper management to the lowest employee to avoid going against conducts that are specifically stated in the code of ethics.

Typically, a long term care facility will employ other skilled health care workers like physical therapies, occupational therapist, speech therapists, podiatrist and dentists. Other services and departments that are essential in the running of a long term care facility is the business director, admissions director, social worker, social services director, dietary supervisor, housekeeping and maintenance.
There are different job descriptions, duties and responsibilities for all the various components that make up a long term care facility. This paper will focus mostly on the duties and responsibilities of upper management and the professional and skilled staff. The duties and responsibilities of a long term care management team will vary. The most important duty of management of a long term care facility is to plan, develop, supervise, monitor and maintain the correct standard of care in the entire department in the facility. In order to successfully run a long term care facility, management and its staff should have good communication skills, effective leadership and the business acumen to successfully run the facility.
The duties and responsibilities for management will include planning and directing all the operations of the long term care facility following the guidelines established by the board of directors. Some of these operations
