The Lincoln Lawyer Unethical is commonly defined as not morally correct. Many individuals are faced with unethical decisions everyday. Some occupations in particular can lead to immoral and unethical decisions. In the movie The Lincoln Lawyer, Mick Haller is a defense attorney. His job is to defend most criminals that go through the justice system. Everyday he is faced with the unethical decision to defend others who are guilty of crime. Mick has to stand in front of a judge and a jury and lie directly to them, in order to keep his client out of jail, or cut them the best deal possible. Haller participates in unethical behavior everyday when he goes to work to defend guilty clients, but his current case is more immoral than most. After accepting to take on his client, whom he believed was innocent, but comes to find out that he did in fact commit the crime. Mick finds it difficult to defend this man because he knows for a fact that he did commit the murder of the prostitute, as well as another woman in previous years. This is unethical because Mr. Haller has proof and heard a confession from his client but is still forced to defend him in court. Mr. Haller lies to the judge and the jury in order to get his clients name cleared from all of the charges. He states that his client was set up by another man in order to frame him for the crime. The occupation of Mr. Haller is essential to put criminals back on the streets. His Job is very unethical because even though most of his clients are guilty, it is his job to prove them not guilty. Not only is this immoral for telling a blatant lie to the court and the jury, it also endangers many of the citizens who have to walk among the criminals. Certain occupations present more situations that require moral actions. Mick Haller is responsible for allowing many criminals to walk the streets free. It is unethical to lie to the entire court, manipulate the minds of others, and not find justice for those who actually deserve it. The principles and morals that outline the occupation of Mr. Haller are not clearly defined. He chose the job knowing what it would entitle. He has clear intentions of winning his cases in court. He would partake in necessary steps in order to clear his clients name. He lies to several people within the justice system, as well as witnesses in order to gain information or make them believe a lie. For the services he provides he charges an unreasonable amount. In one instance he over charges a man by five thousand dollars, in which he keeps for himself. Overcharging a client for his service was a dishonest act he performed in. He manipulated his client into believing that the charge was strictly for his services. Throughout the movie there were several issues that proved to be
