An annoying co-worker is a crucial factor in the workplace. There are six most common types of annoying co-workers such as the interrupter, the know-it-all, the slacker, the grump, the speakerphone lover, and finally the blabbermouth. There are solutions on how to deal with these individuals in the workplace. All of these common types of annoying co-workers can cause a very uncomfortable situation in the organization when managing as well as working with these individuals.
There are “several guidelines for ethical interpersonal communication can enhance the development of effective relationships and increase organizational satisfaction: Honesty is a primary ethical standard for efficient relational communication. Fairness and equity in relationships are needed to promote mutual long-term success. Sensitivity to the unique needs of others is crucial to developing trust. Adaptation to changing social needs is also necessary for helping relationships grow over time. Communicating with empathy, demonstrating understanding and concern for the perspectives of others, is an important factor in demonstrating caring and respect in interpersonal relationships” (Kreps, 2011, ch 4.4).
