The United States Constitution states “All men are created equal.” Our Constitution has given all citizens of this country the same rights and privileges. Saldy, people still do not agree. People fought for civil rights, and rights for the black community. Two years ago homosexuals were given the right to marry, and issues still exist with homosexual rights to this day.
The film Milk, directed by Gus Van Sant, is a film about homosexual rights. The character Harvey Milk, fought hard against the cruel society, that discriminated against homosexuals. Harvey ran twice for the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco. Harvey and his boyfriend Scott worked hard to gain followers and protesters. In the middle of the film, Harvey finally won the election

In the film Harvey was discussing how terrible the situation for homosexuals had become. He shared a story about a gay man who was murdered. Harvey said “The last words he heard were fagot, fagot, fagot.” In response, people believed that it was okay to discriminate against the homosexual community, and that members of the homosexual community were evil.
The ethical theory that was used to filter the situation was the Divine Command Theory. The Divine Command Theory states that the morality is shown by the will of God, which is known as the commands of God. Religious texts are mostly the main source of this information. The Christians of the community, in the film, referred to the Bible, which stated that homosexuality is forbidden by God. When it come to the Divine Command Theory, there are issues. The theory states a belief in God. In reality there may not be a God. This would make the whole argument false.Theism states that God is omnibenevolent, omniscient and omnipotent. God is omnibenevolent, making him perfect. God is perfect so why did he create homosexuals, if he did not support them. It does not make sense to make something that was not meant to last. If you were a true follower of God, what happened to “Thou shalt not kill?”How was it okay to kill a homosexual man, and not be
