These young girls grow up not saying anything or speaking out about their experience with Nassar; however, these girls grew into women and learned that what he had done was not okay. They began speaking out or had people speak out on their behalf. Donna Markham’s daughter Chelsea was a victim of Nasser, and her mom spoke on her daughter behalf (Hutchinson). Markham’s daughter was 13 and quit gymnastics, started abusing drugs, and killed herself in 2009 because of Nassar (Hutchinson). This young girl took her life because she didn’t know how to speak out about this situation. Many other women were just as traumatized as Chelsea was. In all the videos of the women speaking at court, they were all sexually harassed at a young age and grew up with the trauma from it. They wouldn’t have had to go through the trauma if the people working with and around Nassar knew the effects of sexual harassment and had known it was illegal. The Trump case is another famous example of sexual harassment. Trump one of the owner’s of the Miss U.S.A pageant system. He had access to backstage, hotels, events, headquarters, and everything else. Every woman who held a state title would meet Trump at some point as a tradition.
