Thomas Jefferson faced an ethical quandary over the purchase of Louisiana from France. In attendance was a balance between drawbacks and benefits to the Louisiana Purchase. This could be determined by Jefferson’s character in all this. He has his own ways and his own beliefs about things in life. The power was in his hands.
With the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the United States acquired about eight hundred twenty-eight million square miles of land from France, in that way expanding the mass of the young republic. In the act of the purchase, Jefferson was growing the authority of government. The Louisiana Purchase was a case in point of great government by means of its federal power to inductee feat.
