Ethical Scenarios In Municipal Jail

I believe that when it comes to any profession that has to do with criminal justice ethics is the backbone of every position. If there were no ethics when dealing with people in criminal justice careers, then it would not be what it is today.
Scenario #1: Municipal Jail
All criminal justice professionals work with sensitive information. Others find the information interesting, and the criminal justice professional must keep private information private. After viewing the scenario, consider the following:

• What are the benefits to the jailer in sharing the information?
There not a lot of benefits from sharing the information to his wife, Peggy, in this type of situation. But, if I was to think of some, one would be the fact that when he gets out of jail the bible study group could help Jason through the situation and maybe even help to make sure that he doesn’t end up back in jail again. So there is a way it could benefit in this way. Now if he would have shared the information with his supervisor and not his wife, more than likely they would have moved Seth to another part of the jail so that there would not be a way for Jason to see that Seth knew that he was there and this would avoid in dilemma’s to begin

When anyone goes to jail it is public information and anyone can find out that he was in jail if there to call and ask. Now if Seth was to call his wife and tell her that Jason was there and shared person information about Jason or things on his record then this would be grounds for a dilemma. This type of action is against the law and could get Seth fired or even in jail his self. I personal don’t think it is ethical to tell anyone that certain people are in jail. I like to think of the person in jail’s feeling and the fact that they might not want anyone to
