The Etruscan temples had colorful and ornate structures and usually had stone foundations. However, the wood, mud-brick, and terra cotta superstructured had much more exposure to the elements. On the other hand, many Greek temples still survive today since they were made of stone and marble. Etruscan temples were mostly constructed from ephemeral materials, therefore most do not exist today. Unlike Greek temples, Etruscan temples had high podiums, frontal entrances, deep porches, prostyle columns, and frontality. Many Etruscan temples had a triple cella, or a three room configuration, presumably to reflect a divine triad associated with the temple, such as Menrva as well as Tinia (Jupiter/Zeus) and Uni (Juno/Hera).
