The Etruscan temples had colorful and ornate structures and usually had stone foundations. However, the wood, mud-brick, and terra cotta superstructured had much more exposure to the elements. On the other hand, many Greek temples still survive today since they were made of stone and marble. Etruscan temples were mostly constructed from ephemeral materials, therefore most do not exist today.
