Per classroom observations: Malik is a sixth-grade student who enjoys drawing/art and basketball. He does not like tasks that pose a challenge and will demonstrate disruptive and inappropriate behaviors. Malik has the strength to include his written expression (neat and legible) and with basic reading and math skills. Malik is a highly verbal student who’s capable of expression his wants and needs. He has been attending OCLC since early February and currently attending regular Art/P.E classes and resource support to address weaknesses in social/emotional, reading and math weaknesses. On 2/28/2018, Malik was observed refusing to comply with classroom expectations. Staff provided him with an ELA comprehension questionnaire from the “Hatchet”.
