Evaluating placement activity
For my activity I did hand printing and I made pictures out of their hands using their topic mini beasts and created pictures to do with this such as butterfly’s, spiders and caterpillars.
Some of the bad things during my activity were that I didn’t have enough paint ready so I had to keep on going and getting more next time I could have the paint ready on the table so if it runs out I can just tip some more in instead of leaving the children to get more. I maybe had too many children doing the activity I should have had 1 or 2 but I can 3 and sometimes 4 at one time so they were getting agitated and they started to not listen and just wanted to put the hand prints all over the page also the more children that came I had to go and fetch more chairs so maybe next time I could only have 2 chairs and not get anymore and say to the children just go play for a while and I will shout you when I’m ready for your turn instead of letting more children do it at one time I could be in control more. My observer was late so this made it difficult and she was ment to be there while doing the activity and I had to start before she came as the children were hovering around the table and wanting to paint as it was an exciting thing to do so everything was out on the table and they were messing with it and someone had to be supervising it so they didn’t mess it up next time the observer could ring up and say she is going to be late so that I didn’t set the table up ready I could of done It closer to the time she was coming.

The good point for my activity was that I had a good bond with the children and they were giving me good feedback such as laughing while I was painting their hands as it was ticking them and I gave them vision pictures off the internet of what picture they would like to create so they can see what the choice of pictures are. I used a good variety of colours for them to choice from; I explained the activity well and make sure they understood what they had to do and I explained about the mini beast as that was their topic and
