Festa Vino
Last thursday I went to an event called Festa vino. This was a lovely event but it was a little bit strange for me in the beginning. I say it was strange because it required me to do something I've really never done before and it felt very strange for me to do this. I had to leave my certain comfort zone in order to participate in this event which was new and frightening to me. I knew that for this event, I would have to leave my shell and move on from my fear.

Festa Vino was an event that I went to and it was held in the MAC in siena. It was this nice big event for people to display there restaurant ideas such like their foods, wines, and displays of there restaurants. It was an open event to whoever wanted to come and see and try the restaurants ideas. This event i must say was not a free event, it was a fundraiser for siena and the athletic department. This event has been going on for many years and it has always been a huge success for not only the schools, but for the restaurants as well. The Money goes to our program called “Saints Alive” which gives money divinely to our athletic teams which is always helpful for each team. When I got to the event, I was offered to help around and make sure everybody had what they needed. When I was told I had to do this i felt a bit weirded out. I kind of felt like a waiter or a server to everyone in the event. Like in platos Story “Allegory in the cave” I was Required to leave my comfort zone and move on to bigger and better things in life. Yes I must admit it was scary and uncomfortable for me to go up to people asking if they needed help with something or if they needed more food because I've never even met these people before and i had to be there servant. In the story plato says “When one was freed and suddenly compelled to stand up, turn his neck around, walk, and look up toward the light, he would be pained by doing all these things and be unable to see the things whose shadows he had seen before, because of the flashing lights.” To me this is a very powerful saying. To me the quote is saying that you can not simply look into the light (future) and only see the good, or the easy path in life. You have to be able to leave the zone or look into the light with more depth and you will realize that becoming a
