In this essay I will compare both sides of the evolution and creation arguments. I will first present the basic beliefs that creationism and evolutionism have, and then later I will talk about the Sobers beliefs with the criticisms that follow.
First I will start by discussing the basic beliefs of the two theories. Evolutionism has a theistic and atheistic approach. A theistic belief is the idea that God has created the universe but is not involved with the world letting his creation take over. An atheistic approach, attached with the Darwinian approach is the belief that God does not exist and life was naturally created. The theory of evolution, created by Charles Darwin features two beliefs; a Single Tree of Life and Modification by Natural

One of the reasons that Sober believes in the theory of evolution, is because all life has relations between themselves found in our genetic code. Sober compares the genetic material in a person's body to one of a frog and explains that there is a difference in material. But also, there is a similarity between a frog and a human found in the amino acid, in cells of your body to create proteins. Sober adds that there is no reason for the acid there making it arbitrary. There is no explanation to why this similarity is found; if species were to evolve separately there would not have been any likeness between the two. This finding enables the possibility that there is a chance that all living beings on earth have linked creations with the same ancestor, further proving that Single Tree of Life hypothesis possibly is a reality. Another reason for Sober's belief in evolution is the current anatomy of the human body. Sober talks about how the human body has a tail bone, an appendix and fetuses have gills on them. None of these objects are necessary for a human to live; the appendix rather is a threat towards life when it's inflamed, if untreated would lead a person to death. These two arguments point to the result that biologically humans are in the process of evolution, further stating that there is a similarity that we share a similarity with other mammals such as fish, monkeys and other living things. …show more content…
Some of the most common creationist arguments against evolutionism are disoriented and have many mistakes. One example is how evolution cannot be proven with absolute certainty. Although this is an exact argument, nothing in science is absolutely certain. It is clear that nobody was alive to see the world develop its earliest stages dating back to billions of years ago but nobody was, so using this as an argument is unfair. There are many theories that back up the theory of Evolution including strong evidence from a scientific point of view. The statement is weak and too uncertain to find it as a strong argument to oppose the theory of Evolution. A second example that some creationists make is the study of the Second law of Thermodynamics. This means that evolutionists disagree with physics that it is impossible for life to evolve from no life. In reality the law says that in a closed system environment there is a high chance for states to move from greater to lesser order. The earth's system is not closed meaning that this argument is also incorrect. There are many examples of the earth's system being open; such as the sun's rays which come in contact with our planet. The statement cannot be valid because it is also weak and faint with its
