Preface
I never really considered myself a writer, but over the past few semesters here at USC, I have grown accustom to the notion of becoming one. This is possible due to my passion for great stories and how they are told. This is just one of the reasons, if not the most, that helped my decision to go back to school. After many years in the post-production division of the motion picture industry, I felt that it was time and made the choice relatively easy. My education before was just the juxtaposition of minimal educational requirements and self-taught skills, while good, set a limit on what I could achieve and what I knew was possible. There was so much more potential, even in writing. Friends and family would always comment on my style and had given me complements on how my writing could be expressive. But I had always brushed the praise aside, as I was more focused on visual design then literary.

He wanted me to completing my skills by earning my family’s very first bachelor’s degree—I’m a first generation collage student. Giving the idea a great deal of consideration, but still hesitant. There was a concern that at my age—at the time I was 29—that I would not fit into the collage setting. Also there was the question of what I was going to study. “Film,” my friend said, “you have the experience,” which I did.
