A dystopian society consists of an oppressive leader(s) that implant the illusion in its inhabitants that they are living in a utopia. For example in the fictitious novel, Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Katniss and Peeta plan to be lovers in order to convince people that they were in love and to feel more compassion for them. This is an example of propaganda because nearing the end of the novel when the rules changed resulting in only one victor, the audience realizes that the games are not fair for the tributes. This caused Panam to transform into a dystopian society because its inhabitants are now realizing that conditions that they are currently withstanding are unfair. Likewise in the fictitious novel, Animal Farm by George Orwell, the
