Altruism is defined as unselfish concern for the welfare of others. This means that somebody doesn't care only about themselves, but for the well-being of other people, they put other people's safety or well-being before their own. Striving to act altruistically should be a valuable goal that everybody should try to reach. Acting altruistically should be a valuable goal that everybody should try to reach. It will make you feel better and probably give you a better conscience. Wouldn’t you rather be seen as somebody that puts other people's life before your own life, than somebody who only cares about themselves.
