Authority can be very similar to the other themes of this play. In the play, authority seems to be held by the males in the novel. Males like Stanley Kowalski, who has the most authority over every one especially his wife Stella and Blanche. Stanley uses this authority to make his life easier and to get what he wants and there's many examples throughout the play that will prove how. “Stanley [yelling] Sit down! (Williams 52). Stanley is yelling at Mitch to sit down to finish their poker game. Mitch however is a boy not a girl and is more of a friendly male than Stanley. Mitch could represent the nice men in the play and show that not all men are brutal to women like Stanley.Mitch mainly is nice to women such as Stella and Blanche in the play
