One of the very few laws that have been mentioned in Dante’s Inferno. Contrapasso is a fitting punishment or counter suffering to those who are located in hell. The punishment is meant to match or equal the crimes those souls who are suffering committed when they were alive. The punishment I see as the best fitting to those who are in hell is the third circles punishments. The third circle contains the gluttons. The gluttons are people who overly indulged in food, drinking, and other worldly pleasures. Their punishment was to lay on disgusting waste very similar to mud but smell very similar to a garbage dump while they are rained on by an never ending icy rain.
