The act of hallucinations and having visions whilst awake and showing individuals their deepest darkest ambition can mess the minds of the individual as they actually start believing in what they are seeing. This case is true for Macbeth, in Act 2, Scene 1, Line 33, “Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand?”, Shakespeare is saying that Macbeth is having hallucination of the exact weapon he uses to murder King Duncan. Even though at this point in the play, Macbeth had already decided to kill Duncan, there is still a part of him that is full of guilt to what it is about to happen.
