The Iliad, by Homer, gives numerous examples of epic heroes. An epic hero is someone who is not afraid to do what's right, even though they'll be risking there lives to protect others from any sense of danger. A perfect example would have to be Hector one of the many heroes in the Trojan war. Hector faces numerous amounts of decisions with one leading to his death, but the great prince would do anything not only to protect his people but also his kingdom.
Hector first characteristic would have to be his love and compassion to his kingdom. Hector would not die without a struggle (Hamilton 199). He is presented to a great warrior from Greek who goes by the name Achilles. Achilles cares about no one but himself, he's chosen to go out to war
