The Tragic Hero

The tragedy of Julius Caesar, as people will say, drew many people to its attention. The author of this play includes William Shakespeare. The plot begins with many people gathering around and celebrating the return of Casar from war in which he just won. The whole town celebrates with games in which Julius Caesar joins in on. A tragic hero is someone who makes a wrong decision in which leads to their own destruction. Marcus Brutus was the tragic hero in this play because he is a noble person high in rank, is involved in a struggle which leads to disaster, and has a tragic flaw which leads to a downfall.

Therefore, Marcus Brutus was very noble and high in rank, in which he was raised and born as a wealthy child. …show more content…
Marcus Brutus was gullible and that was his tragic flaw. Since he was gullible he was tricked by cassius into joining the conspiracy. He also believed that he should have been king, but they were all just fake notes stating he was be better than Caesar so that they could kill Caesar. In the end, Marcus Brutus was brought down by this tragic flaw, but was still the tragic hero.

For instance, some people will argue that Caesar is the tragic hero because he was going to become a king, and that he was a major part of the story. However, he does not fit that subject because, he only was about to become king and the story did not revolve around him as much as it did with Brutus. Therefore, Brutus is an appropriate person to choose to be the tragic hero. Brutus ended up having the guts to kill a soon to become king and best friend. Which that is why Brutus is believe to be the tragic hero. The Tragedy of Julius caesar left many people thoughtless and confused. The tragic hero was composed of many characteristics including the hero’s nobility, the hero’s catastrophe, and the hero’s tragic flaw.
