Money Can't Buy Happiness “Money will buy you a bed, but not a good night’s sleep, a house but not a home, a companion but not a friend” (Pinterest). Many think that having money can buy everything which is not true in reality. The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald shows that being addicted to money can create negative actions in your life. The story proves that the obsession of wanting money can cause complicate. People being obsessed with money are despondent. For example, Daisy marries Tom because of the lifestyle he can provide with his money, but Tom cheated on her with another woman. This demonstrates that people who chooses money over love will only get money not love. Second, Gatsby committed himself to becoming a wealthy and successful man, when he is rich he throws parties hoping that Daisy would one day attend one of them.
