When one hears the title The Great Gatsby the person usually thinks of Jay Gatsby. While Mr. Gatsby is an important character, he isn’t the only one. Without Nick Carraway the story wouldn’t be the same. Based on a personality test Mr. Carraway matches with the color green. Carraway has the tendencies to get right to the point in conversations, He uses clear and precise language, and he draws constant challenge in work. Nick Carraway is a pretty straight forward kind of person. He won’t beat around the bush, he gets straight to the point in conversations. In The Great Gatsby by F. He is nice about his education, he doesn't go around flaunting his superior knowledge. The ways that Carraway talks with Daisy Buchanan is a good example of his usage of clear and precise language. “‘ Do they miss me?’ecstatically. ‘The whole town is desolate. All the cars have the left rear wheel painted black as a mourning wreath, and there’s a persistent wail all night along the north shore.’”(Fitzgerald 9). He jokes around with Daisy all while keeping with the higher language. Nick Carraway is also know to draw constant challenge in work. This comes in the form of working as a bondsman, although he has little to no experience in bonds work. “‘What you doing, Nick?’ ‘I’m a bond man.’ ‘Who with?’ I told him. ‘Never heard of them,’ he remarked decisively. This annoyed me. ‘You will.’ i answered shortly. ‘You will if you stay in the East.’”(Fitzgerald 10). He was confident in what he planned on doing and wasn’t going to let anyone talk bad on it.
