In the crucible we are going to talk about the self interest they had and what they did to get those interest for themselves. For them to get what they wanted they accused other people for being a witch and making it look like that person did something wrong there were a bunch of interest people wanted in that day and time for examples, they wanted other men's farms and land or the women wanted to accuse the wives for witchcraft so they can have the woman husbands to themselves.

For an example john proctor had an affair with a 17 year old girl whose name is abigail williams and abigail want’s john for herself but it doesn’t turnout the way she want’s it to because at the end of the book john ends up being held on trial for witchcraft and is sentenced to hang for his crime and he confesses to having an affair with abigail to the court(p.50) and his wife has later been accused for witchcraft by abigail so she can be hanged so abigail can get john to herself but he said he has distrusted her and he has no more feeling of love for her (p.14) and that he loves elizabeth.
