My goal for my career is to become an athletic trainer at a university or possibly for a professional sports team. I have been involved in sports my whole life, and I want to continue to be involved in a way that will benefit future and current athletes. The exercise science major will prepare me to pursue a master’s degree in athletic training. It will allow me to learn the concepts of fitness and health that will assist me in becoming an athletic trainer. The exercise science program will allow me to gain knowledge about how I can create an environment that supports good exercise and nutrition habits with my future clients or athletes that I work with in my career. I work really hard to get the best grades possible, and that I learn the material and apply it to my life and career goals. I take pride in retaining the knowledge I gain from classes rather than simply memorizing it and forgetting everything following the tests. My academic skills will set me up for great success in the exercise science program. Another strength that I have is dedication to the things that I am involved in. This includes my classes because I rarely miss class even if it is a class that many other students skip. The professors are there to teach the students valuable knowledge, and if the students are not there they can not learn what the professor teaches during class. I also dedicate myself to the activities that I am involved in. For example, I sustained a season ending injury at the beginning of my last season of summer softball, and I could have stopped going to all the games, but I went to all of the remaining games except the ones immediately following my surgery. I cheered on my teammates at all of the games, and they knew that I was there for them the entire season despite being injured. I believe that it is vital to put all my effort in the things I do because I want the things that I am involved in to turn out the best they possibly
