Geographical Setting: What continent? What Landforms? What important Places?

The geographical setting of the Aztecs was along the southern point of Mexico, in Meso-america. There were valleys, small islands and swamps. There were little good spots for farming, so they had to create chinampas. The climate was dry and hot. The Aztecs would use boats to travel and trade.

Mercenaries were first used for soldiers. The Empire ruled about 6-12 million people. When an Aztec tribe won a war, they demanded tribute. Tribute was slaves, money or food.
