Growing up. The huge part of someone’s life, where you go into playing tag with your friends, to driving your family to places or having to deal with more responsibilities. Coming of age, noun, definitions: refers to the process of growing up or entering into adulthood. Coming of age means more than being able to drive on your own or being able to make your own choices. Coming of age means being able to take charge on your own and being able to help your family. The older you get the more responsible you have, the more independent you have to be, and being able to make a decision with a mature attitude. This essay will be about what ‘coming of age’ means to me and how different my family or parents see it.

This is quite similar to having more responsibilities. When we were little our parents were always there for us helping us with our homework, getting us ready for school, or even dressing us up. I remember when I was little and either of my parents would always sit right next to me while I was doing homework, just incase I needed help. Or when I was little, there would always be an outfit on my bed ready for me to put on, But that was when I was little. Coming of age means becoming more independent. In my parent’s eye they see I am coming of age so it takes off some worry about them doing things for me, because I am able to do them on my own. Being more independent. Now I get myself ready for school, I do my homework on my own (but when I am needing help I get help from them once and awhile). Being independent doesn’t mean being alone or being self reliance. There will always be that someone there to help but you can’t rely on someone to do your own
