I admire Dirk Nowitzki. The “7-foot Schnitzel” is currently the sixth all-time scoring leader in NBA history and was named the league’s “Finals MVP” after becoming a champion in 2011. But why’s this guy remarkable? Sure, he led the Dallas Mavericks to their first championship, but there’s so much more to this highly decorated superstar. I admire Dirk Nowitzki because of his persistence. He was traded to a different team before he could even step on a basketball court. Despite feeling against the odds, he used it as fuel to work hard and prove the doubters wrong; this was also seen during his championship run against the “unstoppable” Miami Heat.
