#1. Nixon was not a great president. After he resigned from the Presidency of the United States over Watergate in 1974, he was widely reviled as the worst every occupant of the White House. Although Nixon had no foreknowledge of the burglary of the Democratic National Offices by the White House “plumbers”, he created the atmosphere in which such a stupidity could happen. He participated in the cover-up knowingly and lied about it repeatedly. Some of his Oval Office conversations, were preserved for successors on the White House tapes, where they were found to be unbelievably vulgar. There was so much controversy and problems after this, that is why Nixon had to go, he was the only president to resign in the United States. Lyndon B

Maybe Nixon ended the Vietnam War, but being the only president to resign, that was not a good sign. Lyndon B Johnson created many Great Society programs, which included anti-poverty programs, civil rights legislation, the creation of Medicare and Medicaid, the passage of some environmental protection acts, and the creation of laws to help protect consumers. Lyndon coming from poverty made him want to do all this programs to help others that were suffering from not having enough money. Not only was the Watergate scandal taken under Nixon´s orders, but some say that he was guilty of tax fraud and cheating the IRS out of a lot of money. Almost $500,000.
