When it comes to the issues of child abuse, domestic violence, and exposure to domestic violence is a serious issue that needs to be addressed at all times when there is some form of it is present in society, and by others. There are times that when placed in this predicament of become a witness and victim of abuse, it is not usually possible for some individuals to fight, stand against it, and/or get away from the abuse that is present. That is when there should be some assistance for those who are victims of it. There are several organizations and individuals that advocate for the victims he or she comes across with. As stated by Mills & Yoshihama (2002), “child welfare workers are more likely to recognize the importance of assessing domestic violence and…confident in their ability to work effectively with families affected by domestic violence” (as cited in Banks, Landsverk, & Wang, 2008, pg. 904). When children are involved by being exposed to it, he or she is at risk of “experiencing a wide range of difficulties of behavioral, social, and emotional problems” (Child Welfare Information Gateway, 2009). The exposure of domestic violence and the risk of it is the fault of the perpetrator. From different point-of-views from other individuals, the blame would be placed upon the victim for allowing the violence in the home to continue, and to be seen. That right there is victim blaming, whereas there is a need for someone to advocate for the victim. The blame should be on the perpetrator for starting the violence, even though there is another alternative to address a situation in a non-violent way to their partner. The many individuals from domestic violence and DCP&P can work with, and advocate for the victim and child for their safety to get away from violence in the
