In Indian it is common to see cases of Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB), Crohn’s disease (CD), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in an everyday clinical setting. While TB normally gets cured with appropriate treatments, CD has persistent course, and usually is a lifelong occurrence. There is no simple test to determine CD. It is based on clinical features, endoscopic characteristics, and histological characteristics.
Endoscopic examination of the GIT is essential for the diagnosis and evaluation of the extent of the disease. Ileocolonoscopy is the first recommended test for the diagnosis of CD. Once CD has affected the body, it then stays in that area. Most patients with CD experience ulcers. The ulcers can range in size and shape.
