Beatty was being very rude to Montag considering he just had to burn his own house down. I’m sure she was very upset also and she knew Montag was the person to blame for all of this. He remembered Faber saying that he just needed to cover himself in alcohol so his scent would go away. He then floats down the river for a very long time. After several days Montag finds the group by seeing their smoke from the fire. The people end up being old literature professors and many others that had an occupation to do with books, so right away Montag knew he would fit in. The groups that Mottag was able to find was a group of people that memorized books they had read. If they hadn’t memorized the books they would have a larger chance of getting in more trouble if they got caught with books. They all enjoy reading so much they went to the extent of memorizing their favorite books By the very end of the story, they all realize that the city is already destroyed from the war and think it would be in their best idea to just go back and help the town clean up and do whatever they feel will help. Every once and in a while Montag thinks of Millie and his past life but he knows that they are all gone and he has to come to the realization that nothing will ever be the way it used to be. Hopefully it all blows over and everyone will forget about what Montag did and he will be able to have some sort
