Believing in yourself is a very fundamental aspect in succeeding after many failures. To succeed, after overcoming your failures is a sign of courage. To ultimately succeed, it is necessary to fail at times because it shows bravery through your determination and strength to continue what you set your mind to. Even our role models have failed numerous times. However, they keep fighting their falls until they accomplish their goal. Michael Jordan, an outstanding basketball player perhaps the best of all time, was cut off his high school team. Jordan still overcame this obstacle, and was willing to continue what he had started. As he continued even after failing, Michael became successful with his determination. Michael learned from his high school mistake, which helped him became who he is. No matter who or what you are, you can always learn from your success and failures by having courage. Learning from your success is a great accomplishment. However, learning from failures is an extraordinary accomplishment. Many famous role models have proved that it takes perseverance to carry on after failures. Babe Ruth, another phenomenal athlete was well known for his home run record. In order for Babe to have achieved his remarkable record, it also came along with the tremendous amount of strikeouts. Babe said, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.” Even he had realized that every fail allowed him to strive harder, which conveyed him as an optimistic. Babe’s…
The Benefits of Failure
Good morning Mr Chairperson Ladies and Gentlemen.
We are taught at a young age that failure is not an option. In every faucet of our life we will have to prove to
others that we measure up, that we are worthy of our accomplishments and strive to be the best of the best. If
only I had some sort of magical power to see into the future. To steer me in the right direction, to dodge lifes
pitfalls and take the guess work from what is to become my future success.
that moment that society longs for; feeling infinite. (Pattern 1C) This idea of being infinite is brought up many times in books relating to high school students. One book constantly brings up this feeling with a teenage boy named Charlie. In The Perks of Being a Wallflower Stephen Chbosky uses high school struggles to show humanity’s desire to fight for popularity and acceptance.
Is it better to be a wallflower or be an outspoken person who has to cover up their feelings because they are fighting…
The book I read for summer reading is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. The reader learns on the first page that the book is set up as a letter to a friend (the reader). The writer of the letter is a boy named Charlie, who is a wallflower. A wallflower is someone that sits back and watches everyone and everything that is around him. It is clear that he is bullied because he would rather walk forty minutes home every day from school instead of taking the bus with the other students…

I Swear We are Infinite
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky, is narrated through the use of letters by the main character, Charlie, to an anonymous reader as an opening for his fears. Charlie’s freshman year of high-school is a life changer. The novel expresses the importance of friendship, with plot points dripping in depravity with underage drinking and drugs; the trauma of a teenage wasteland that also manages…
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.” Is a very popular quote from the book “The perks of being a wallflower”. Not many people knew that this was a book made into a movie. Perks of being a wallflower is a book written by Stephen Chobosky. The book is based on letters written by a boy named Charlie that were about his freshman year in high school. This book stays true to the life…

Failure is part of a process necessary in learning and progressing, it is unavoidable. Failure is a decision of the inevitable. People who choose to fail and learn from their mistakes develop ideas, thoughts, and personality traits. Those people who avoid failures develop a fear of them and live failing the pursuit of knowledge. Failing is giving yourself the opportunity to learn. So often failure does not receive enough credit for what it merits…
“The perks of social networking”
Naturally we are born with a sense for curiosity. As a child we see our friends playing with a new toy and we want to know what it is, how you play with it, and where you can buy it. With adults and teens we are continually fascinated in knowing what’s “in” so to speak. Take social networking for example. According to digitalbuzzblog.com, there are over 500 million Facebook users and 1 in every 13 people on earth log in every day. Over 700 Billion minutes a month…
kept quiet on purpose, such as in the following quote, “...And I opened the door to the basement, and my sister and this boy were naked... And she screamed at me in a whisper “Get out. You pervert.” So I left.” (Chbosky)
The highly banned book Perks of Being A Wallflower was number three on the top one hundred banned books in America in 2009, because the book is allegedly anti-family, talks about drugs, suicide and homosexuality, has offensive language, is sexually explicit and unsuited to certain…
Everyone attacks what an awful habit smoking is. In my experience, I have seen and had family members addicted to smoking. Many of them are very imaginative in their strategies to fuel their addiction. There seems to be no limit on the little perk one person can expect from picking up a pack of Newport’s and enjoying themselves a bit.
First of all, you will be considered an important person. Nothing in the world is more fashionable than then teeth yellow like the golden sun, nicotine stained…
