Fanconi Anemia Research Paper

Fanconi anemia is a recessive genetic disorder, you have to inherit the abnormal gene from both parents. At least 15 faulty genes can cause it, so you can inherit any of these mutated genes to get FA(Webmd.com/FA/2005,2017). To be a carrier requires you to inherit only one abnormal and one normal gene from a parent. To pass it to your children, both you and the other parent must pass down the abnormal gene. This disease is very rare and more than likely will be diagnosed in the early childhood years, typically between 3 years old and 12 years old. Only 10% of patients are diagnosed in adulthood.
