William Shakespeare once wrote, “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” This quote by Shakespeare explains, in a few words, how destiny can be dictated by our choices. This gives an intriguing look at destiny itself and the causes of fate. William Shakespeare was a unique English poet, playwright, and actor, who is best known for his projects of english writing and for being the world’s preeminent dramatist. William is most noticed for his work in the dramatic irony filled novel/play called The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet are the famous star-crossed lovers who come to the decision of death because of their families feud, and the relationship they have with one another. Tybalt is the first cousin of Juliet, who always is intended to fighting, and having hatred for others. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet was said to be caused by fate, but Tybalt and his choices of fighting is the main reason as to why they both died.

Romeo is a young man who seeks for love. Him and Juliet believe that fate has brought them together. So, Romeo, being so young, is in love with Juliet at sight. Also, the death of Tybalt was caused by Tybalt himself because of the death of Mercutio. Tybalt was blinded by hatred and rage, the urge to fight Romeo, so fought Mercutio because he was willing to, and killed him. Romeo was only avenging the death of Mercutio, because the Prince would have Tybalt executed already. “Not Romeo, Prince; he was Mercutio’s friend; His fault concludes but what the law should end, The life of Tybalt” (III.I.177-179).
