The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, introduces Sherlock Holmes, a detective, and Dr. Watson, a doctor that is Holmes’ companion, as the two main characters, as , called to Dartmoor, England to solve a case, that has to do with the death of Sir Charles, that is believed to be caused by a supernatural creature. The two investigators must solve the case before Sir Henry, a gentleman from Canada and the nephew of Sir Charles, dies as well. All throughout the mysterious novel, the theme of how not to allow fear to dictate one’s actions is developed, by using the hound to inflict fear into the residents, of the small town, and force a reaction that will affect their fate or the hounds.
