Generating an influential decision has multiple components that contribute to the process and emotional outcome an individual will ultimately re-live. Fear can be seen as a factor that has an disproportional significant percentage of impacting which option will be chosen in a particular distressing situation. Deciding between fear for others or for yourself can eventually determine whether one’s self can be perceived as selfless or selfish. The judgement selected will regulate others view on another’s exterior as a remarkable samaritan or as a horrid, narcissistic internal character. An individual’s values can be interpreted as moral and if not regarded as this, may need to be changed immediately so others will not be permanently wounded emotionally. By gaining the proper education, that may only be obtained from more encounters, the particular person has the opportunity to redeem oneself. Even though their actions may never be forgotten, the strong possibility arises that their decision may be forgiven based on the demonstration of learning from their horrific mistakes. In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, the main character, Amir, constructs an inimical decision out of fear of being personally injured. Due to the decision Amir generated in an instant, a young, innocent Hassan was brutally raped causing his physiological state to be damaged. Amir’s conscience continued to be haunted more and more as the destructive effects were witnessed over time building a sense of guilt and regret. Unfortunately by observing the pernicious influence of abandoning Hassan, Khaled Hosseini deems it absolutely necessary for Amir to straighten his misconduct by acquiring the knowledge of acting ethically by not wounding others physically or mentally through personal experience where influential decisions …show more content…
Nobody can comprehend the remorse Amir continuously feels inside, but he believes that if he constantly acts righteously that the enormous guilt will slowly dissipate until nothing remains. By realizing that Baba had committed the worst kind of sin by robbing Ali of his honor, Hassan of his identity, and Amir’s right to know that he had a half brother, Amir learns that all individuals are flawed like himself (Hosseini, 225). Hosseini empowers Amir to finally begin to understand that nobody's perfect even if one views their superficial exterior as the epitome of perfection. As a result of Baba’s friend, Rahim Khan being utterly honest by sharing insightful information with Amir, he rages but then can recognize the ironic fact that maybe Amir and his Baba were more alike than he ever knew. By gaining the new knowledge that Amir’s father, Baba, slept with Ali’s wife, he can accept his own imperfections by recognizing his father as an actual non superlative human like himself. Furthermore, by obtaining this insight Amir Hosseini can mend a father son relationship with Amir’s new son by fully observing why a father acts in a particular way and moreover the reasons behind his father’s behaviors.
