Atonement
Does anybody know what atonement is??- (asks class) No...
Well the definition then: satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends. A mouthful right? And For the ones that didn’t understand, the feeling that you get or action of making up for a wrong doing where you have felt somewhat responsible, or feel like you are somehow accountable for the consequences of what happened.
For example, if someone had been bullied, and you had done completely nothing to stop it, or someone was being accused even for a crime that they had not committed, and you had just stood back and watched... and waited... and did nothing to help, or you didn’t even speak up at all. Atonement is ‘the’ apology, Making amends, and making it up to them even, due to the guilt and emotion that you had just felt for doing nothing where you could have done something.
