In a traditional perspective, female character in stories are less essential and popular when they compares to male characters. In the movie Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, the significance of equivalent between female and male characters is essential. In my opinion, female characters are stereotyped by many people with a vulnerable label, for example, Princess Leia, who is the only female character portrayed in “Star Wars”, another great example is an Iranian girl named Marjane, the protagonist in the book Persepolis. Female characters should have individual, and independent identities, personalities, and be able to become a protagonist, female characters should not be stereotyped in any situation because the image of the female has been …show more content…
However, these personalities and features are barely appears in female characters, but there are exceptions and it undoubted impacts the image of female characters in viewer’s mind, an perfect example is also in “Star Wars”, Princess Leia is a very independent women and with strong belief, she is not an unimportant character, she is a leader and adventurer with wisdom, although there are many male roles in “Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope”, the personality and characteristics of Princess Leah has created strong and solid presences in the movie. Princess Leia said :“I don’t know who you are or where you cam from, but from now on, you do as I tell you, okay?” (Star Wars), Her dialogue demonstrates she has her own thoughts and she is a woman with the strong leadership and wisdom. In addition, Marjane also has very strong personalities, it enhanced her presences and her characteristics of the book, in Marjane’s childhood, she is loved by her family with her innocent and straightforward personalities, but after she grow up, she
