Did you know that from 1973 through 2011 a total of about 53 million legal abortions happened in the United States? A yearly average of about 1.4 million performed per year. At 2008 rates nearly three out of ten women will have an abortion by the age of 45. Abortion should not be legal, because it is immoral, and it is murder. Although, some women believe they deserve rights to do whatever they choose with their own body.
The killing of an unborn person is wrong and immoral. Aborted babies have no chance to have a successful life, except to be conceived and killed. Fetus’s should possess an equal opportunity to live just as the mother of the child did and just as every other person in this world. It is their right as a human being, and it is each person's constitutional right to live and have that choice. Abortion shouldn’t be used as a form of birth control. If killing a living human being is illegal, then killing an almost born child should be as well. Unborn fetus’s are considered human beings by the Federal Government and killing a human is illegal everywhere in this country...but why not when it comes to killing a baby? Abortion not only goes against a person’s virtues, but it goes against the will of God. From the Sixth Commandment, it says “Thou shall not kill” which includes unborn babies as well. If someone is willing to have sex, then they should be ready for the responsibility to take care of a living person. Part of growing up is taking responsibility for our actions, so taking the easy way out and just murdering the baby every time one is conceived is very immature and childish. Even if you can’t take care of the baby yourself there is always the option of adoption which is a million times better than just taking its life away from it.
