Have you read Fever, 1793? The book takes place in old time Philadelphia when a evil Yellow Fever arrives, it causes thousands of deaths and lots of poverty. There is a lot of evidence that the book is about family but I am only focusing on 3. One is that Mattie shows how much she loves him. Another one is, in the story Mattie is trying to reunite with her mother. The last one is when Mattie gets sick grandfather takes care of her and when grandfather gets sick Mattie takes care of him.

When grandfather dies Mattie shows how much she loves him. She shows it by how she felt about putting grandfather out on the road for the death cart. She also showed how much she loved him because she demanded the men at the cemetery to have a proper burial at the graveyard. In the book Mattie said, “This was a great man, Captain William Farnsworth Cook, of the Pennsylvania Fifth Regiment. He was my grandfather. You will not bury him without a prayer.” After she said this the men running the cemetery got out their bibles and recited a prayer for grandfather. This shows that Mattie loves her grandfather.

She felt like a frail bird. We stood there in silence, rocking and holding onto each other as if the rest of the world didn’t matter. Which was true.” This quote and evidence shows that Mattie has a big heart for her
