Fighting ISIS
It was September 11, 1001, when the United States fell victim to one of the most lethal attacks of the nation’s history. Four commercial airplanes were hijacked by nineteen islamic extremists that belong to al-Qaida, the terrorist organization headed by Osama bin Laden. One flew into the pentagon, two were flown into the Twin Towers of New York’s World Trade Center, and the last plane crashed on a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers resisted and fought off the hijackers. Both towers disintegrated within hours of being struck. Nearly 3,000 Americans had been killed that day and America found itself faced with a portentous new enemy (http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/on-this-day/September-October-08/On-this-Day--President-Bush-Declares--War-on-Terror-.html).
