The picture book chosen was “Smelly Louie” written and illustrated by Catherine Rayner, it is a lovely book about a dog who is unhappy after being bathed wants his special smell back. The author has chosen an array of words when writing this book that are able to draw the children into the story by using a subject that most child will understand, the one of when a dog is bathed it will immediately try to get dirty again. The story goes into detail of the search for the perfect smell. Precise vocabulary is used so children should not have a problem with understanding the meaning of what is being said.
