Figurative language is the use of words, phrases, or sentences used in a non literal manner. Authors often use figurative language to make the setting, or mood have a more relatable feeling to them. In the short story The Most Dangerous Game, the author Richard Connell uses lots of figurative language to make the story more interesting and to set the mood and setting. In the short story the author states ,” Like trying to see through a blanket.” This simile expresses how dark and foggy it was. Richard Connell also uses Metaphors to really put the author in the main character's mind and situation. In the text it states, “The Cossack was the cat, he was the mouse.” This comparison really puts the idea in your head that they are chasing each other
